Operation Deadwood, and the Battle of Samurai Kitty and the Yellow Bellied Bully
Yes it is true, I got my Harry Potter book Saturday and didn't even get to start it until Monday because we were so busy on the weekend, so it has in fact been distracting me from updating the blog. I just can't help it, once I start reading it's hard to put it down. LOL Garrett, you will have to leave me a message or e-mail me and let me know if you got it and how far you are along.
I'm guessing Diana should be safe and sound at home by now. I hope you had a great trip to the Czech Di. It stinks that I was not able to meet up with you, I was pretty bummed. I bet Prague was something else though. When we get back home and come visit we will have to share pictures.
Last week there was a bit of an incident that occurred here, involving Bernd, the friendly neighbor, Gemma, and a wild cat. LOL So here it goes! We were at the neighbors with Gemma so she could practice her sprinting and general havoc wreaking techniques. Bernd was telling us an interesting story about a particularly pesky tree in his sisters yard which is right next to his. I guess he has a five year plan to get rid of this nasty tree. So he went to show Marshall his means of carrying out "Operation Deadwood," which brought them, as well as Gemma, who loves to tag along, into Bernd's sisters yard. Well, Bernd's sister has this little black cat that recently had kittens so she is of course on the defensive. I guess the cat saw Gemma and chased her all around the yard, and let me tell you, Gemma was scared to death of the little cat. LOL Gemma tried and tried to get away from the enraged irate cat but Samurai Kitty wouldn't let up and kept at her. So Bernd being the nice guy that he is went in to try to get Samurai Kitty to stop chasing Gemma so Marsh could get her outta there. Well in the process of trying to run into the heart of the battle, Bernd sustained some injuries. Samurai Kitty basically made mincemeat of his leg! This was one ruthless cat, with the agility of Puss In Boots from Shrek 2 and the heart of a wild African lion. Bernd's leg was literally a bloody mess! We're talking deep heavily bleeding claw marks along with a set of fang bites! Samurai Kitty meant business, it looked as though she had tried to take a chunk out of his leg! His leg just kept bleeding and bleeding. When we caught up with him the next day he said he had gone to the doctors and had to get two shots! OOOWWWIIIEEE!!! The shots then caused him to have a reaction on his arm, so he had this big round blotchy spot on his arm where he had gotten the injections. We felt so incredibly bad. I think Marsh learned a valuable lesson at last though, keep Gemma on a damn leash!!! The rest of the week went on fatality and injury free thankfully. LOL
On a lighter note, Bernd told us to try this little Italian restaurant, Milano, last week because Marsh had been craving pizza. The first night we ate there we made the mistake of ordering a pizza with really hot salami on it and peppers that contained hells fire! LOL I only got two bites in, after I had removed the peppers mind you, and my mouth and lips were just flaming. I then ordered a smaller safer pizza. My husband, the ever so frugal manly man, decided he could handle the heat and even claimed that he quite liked the pizza. Well, let me tell ya, Marsh usually can take the heat when it comes to hot and spicy food, but not this time. LOL He got about three quarters of this thing eaten and he was BRIGHT RED and sweating quite profusely. I thought there was something really wrong, so being the wonderful loving wife that I am said, "you look like shit, are you alright," about a hundred times. LOL He kept insisting that he was alright until finally he said, "okay I can't eat anymore." I know it must've killed him to have to throw in the towel like that. I gotta give him some props though for making it through as much of it as he had though. Three cheers for the Canadian Eating Machine! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! LOL We later went back to Milano, this time with the company of our good pal and translator, Bernd. This meal at Milano went much better as have the following two. They have this lasagna that is made with mushrooms and ham, and boy is ever great. I used to think my lasagna was the shizznit, but no longer, for the lasagna at Milano is by far the greatest! They have excellent tortellini and tirimisu as well.
Tonight we, along with all the other London peeps, have been invited to a "medieval feast," a few kilometers away in a place called Mitwitz, (sounds like something straight out of Harry Potter! I love it! LOL). The feast it to take place in a real castle that is surrounded by a moat and everything! We visited the castle on Sunday on our way to the Wall Museum in Little Berlin. I'm mostly excited to eat with my hands of course, so hopefully everything will be authentic and cutlery free. LOL As I mentioned, we visited the Wall Museum on Sunday and it was quite something. Bernd had mentioned it a while back and we talked late into the night one evening last week about what life was like here during the time in which Germany was divided into East and West. It was really something to hear what it was like for people here. When we arrived at the museum you immediately saw the portion of the border that had been preserved. There was a steel fence and about 15 feet away was the concrete wall. There was even a guard tower still in tact that had been preserved. The particular town in which the museum is located was nicknamed "Little Berlin" due to the fact that it to, had been divided by the border much like Berlin had been. It was just so surreal to think that such thing had existed just such a short time ago. We took pictures of course but Marsh hasn't had time to load them up just yet, but we will have them up soon enough! Well that's about it for now, we'll put some more pictures up soon for your viewing pleasure. Take care everyone!
Oh yeah, thanks again Dave for the little taste of home that you sent me! I think it's quite possibly the best gift I've ever received. Marsh has been warned not to lay one finger on my Cocoa Puffs or he'll lose it! LOL Yer the best Dave!
